Never thought I’d be here writing an About Me. Or, About Us! Didn’t know there was a Plan B. Bob and I worked a lifetime to retire and enjoy our golden years. Bob spent his career in housing, and I was a high school English teacher. Loved every minute. Raised our fantabulous children, who added just as fantabulous grandchildren to our lives. Here we are! Living our next dream! But, first, our story…
Unfortunately, by 2015, and dealing with medical issues, I could no longer walk from my classroom to my car without getting overly winded and tired. As well, I was riding the handicapped bus up the ramp at our college football stadium. Something was wrong. Very wrong. I decided to retire.
My friend, who had been OILy for years, dumped essential oils in my hands and said, “breathe.” I did. Our search for wellness began. Since then, I have become an avid researcher of the Young Living lifestyle and all things natural.
Did you know the average woman uses over 300 chemicals getting ready in the morning? We pile on more chemicals while dressing ourselves in clothes dried with dryer sheets. We light candles full of toxins to make our homes smell like cinnamon or lavender. Then, breathe in more toxic chemicals when we clean our homes with popular grocery store cleaners. How about all the pesticides we ingest from our daily food supply? Well, folks, all these toxic chemicals just build up and build up.
For a year, I worked on using Young Living therapeutic essential oils for our personal wellness. Then, I cleaned out our bathroom and added all clean Young Living personal products. Next up, the rest of the house. I’d already switched to Thieves Household Cleaner (the bomb), but now switched the entire house to everything Thieves. The final switch was supplements. You know how you hear about synthetic supplements just passing right through the body? Young Living supplements are oil-infused, which make them more bioavailable. Savvy Minerals Makeup was another Young Living blessing. A true, clean makeup. And, clean, organic eating is now our norm. As a result of making all of the above changes, our wellness and lifestyle dramatically improved.
During all this personal transition, I told my story. Bob’s story. Others became as excited to find out all about these crazy good oils! Our business was born. Before we knew it, we were traveling nationwide sharing our story and holding essential oil classes, all while learning on-the-job. So, I never really left teaching. I changed the subject matter. Bob is my right-hand. He’s my OILy man, my accountant, and my IT guy.
